The dataroom service extracts daily or annual data by climate model from climate data banks. Since the system is based on large volumes of data, the process is split in two phases.
- First is the extraction itself from the databases. This is a long operation and takes a time proportional to the request area, a point request being the fastest. The spatial mean is calculated as this point. There is a monthly quota for launching extractions.
- Once the extraction is done, it is stored in memory for fast access. The visualization show the mean and envelope of climate models. By default, the graphics display annual maximum of the variable, but the aggregation method may be changed (to mean, minimum or sum) as well as the time frequency. The daily frequency shows unaggregated data for a specific year. The aggregation is ignored for yearly data.
Finally, raw data (unaggregated and for each climate model) may be downloaded on csv or netcdf format.
